Slumping Olympians Lose 10th Straight
|
In a tight contest at Nagano Olympic Stadium, the Takaoka Shiko edged the Nagano Olympians by the score of 5-4. Takaoka center fielder Roberto Rivas, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. The 19-33 Olympians have lost 10 consecutive games.
Rivas had a timely hit for Takaoka in the top of the eighth. With Takaoka trailing 4-3, he turned a 2-0 changeup into a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 5-4, Takaoka.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Nagano manager Sozen Tamura.
