Saguaros Take Down Reins, 4-1
|
The Tijuana Saguaros beat the Calexico Reins, 4-1, in 16 innings. Tijuana pitcher and Elgin, Scotland, native Benjamin Ross led the way. The Saguaros now have a record of 19-33 with the win over Calexico.
Tijuana used the timely hitting of Kuemon Morimoto to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 16th inning to put the Saguaros on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Calexico manager Joe Buchanan.
