In a tight tilt between the Gakidou Onryou and the Takaoka Shiko, Shunsho Matsui was the deciding factor. The Gakidou right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The winning pitcher was Matsui, now 5-4. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Takaoka has now lost 4 in a row.
Gakidou used a clutch at-bat from Elias Vail to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Onryou ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We found a way to get it done," Vail said.
