Shmoes Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
The Tijuana Saguaros got a sterling performance from pitcher Thomas Howard, but the Mexicali Shmoes still prevailed, 5-1. Howard threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. John Wilson picked up the win in relief. Jack Scott took the loss for Tijuana. This win makes it 6 in a row for Mexicali.
Mexicali used a timely hit from Lewis Millman to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Shmoes ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I like the makeup of this team," said Shmoes manager Hidehira Ine.
