Magami got a terrific performance from pitcher Jorge Silva, but it wasn't enough to beat the Salton Sea Kilmers. Salton Sea won the Kilmers Ballpark contest, 4-2. Silva threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Scottie McVay picked up the save, his 8th. Salton Sea is now 22-13, 4½ games up in the Baja Cali League SoCal.
Salton Sea took a 4-2 lead on Scott Sherman's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Sherman hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Magami pitcher Mitchell Grimes visibly frustrated.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Salton Sea manager Powell Clark. "It's usually not just one thing."
