A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Takaoka Shiko and National City Bankers.

National City had no answer for 24-year old left-handed pitcher Narihira Ito. The Takaoka Shiko starter stymied Bankers hitters, helping the Shiko cruise to victory, 8-0. The third-place Bankers dropped to 14-15.

The Shiko got a big hit from shortstop Ken Kodo. Facing National City pitcher Joe Johnson in the bottom of the seventh, Kodo pounded a 3-run home run to left-center. His 4th home run of the season put the Shiko ahead, 8-0.

"Even if things get a little hairy, Narihira trusts his ability," said Takaoka manager Ichizo Nakayama.
