Bankers Tack 6-3 Loss on Salton Sea
|
The National City Bankers topped the Salton Sea Kilmers, 6-3, in Baja Cali League action at Kilmers Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of National City pitcher Maddox Garrett. Picking up the save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Yifu Hsi. The win gives National City a record of 13-10.
National City used a timely hit from Steve Hughes to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bankers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"Winning is the only objective," said Hughes after the game.
