Kilmers Score Late to Win, 6-3
|
The Salton Sea Kilmers beat the Tijuana Saguaros, 6-3. Salton Sea pitcher and San Diego, California, native Richard Chapman led the way. Chapman, now 3-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Scottie McVay earned his 5th save, after closing out the game.
Salton Sea used a timely hit from Chris Challinor to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Kilmers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
