Saguaros Lose Versus Magami, 7-4
|
Magami picked up a win at Graviton High, bumping off the Tijuana Saguaros, 7-4. Pitcher Ernesto Vélez was a major reason the Ako emerged victorious. Vélez, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. The save went to Lanny Donovan, his 1st this season.
In the bottom of the sixth, Magami second baseman Dan García had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, García stroked a run-scoring single to right-center. It made the score 4-2, Magami. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Ernesto was throwing free and easy," said Magami manager Hsin Xiao.
The loss drops Tijuana to 6-11.
