Escondido Scrapes Out 3-1 Win
|
Escondido and Gakidou played a hard-fought contest.
The Gakidou Onryou got a sterling performance from pitcher Augusto Ramírez, but the Escondido Stone Brews still prevailed, 3-1. Ramírez threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball. The win was credited to Martín Rosa in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Archie MacGachan took the loss. Ethan Heffron notched his 1st save of the season.
Francisco Cisneros came through with a big-time hit for Escondido. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Henry Carter.
Escondido now has a record of 4-9.
