Chargers Lose as Kilmers Stage Late Rally
The Salton Sea Kilmers picked up a win at Chargers Ballpark, topping the Chula Vista Chargers, 2-1. On the mound for Salton Sea was right-hander Howard Allen. He played a principal role in the triumph. The win belonged to Lorenz Fret in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Pedro Martínez took the loss for Chula Vista. Scottie McVay earned the save for Salton Sea, his 1st.

Salton Sea used the clutch hitting of Michael Byrd to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Kilmers ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
