Suns Down Tornadoes, 3-1
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Kingston Suns and the Drumright Tornadoes. Kingston won it, 3-1. Kingston starter Santiago Martínez was in command. The last-place Suns bumped their record to 40-79.
Kingston took a 3-1 lead on Pat Fountain's 2nd double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Fountain hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Drumright pitcher Karl Tinker visibly frustrated.
Martínez told a Kingston Observer reporter that he was "very pleased" with the win.
