Scholars Get Hard-Earned Win

The Utrecht Scholars did just enough to nip the Alexandria Macedonians, 1-0, in 11 innings. Utrecht pitcher Chris Anderson, in particular, had a standout performance. Utrecht, now 71-48, holds down first place in the Amber Waves League Intercontinental.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ed Stevens? The 23-year old left fielder Stevens stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put Utrecht up, 1-0. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
