Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Rapid City Rushmores and Bismarck Battleships.

The Rapid City Rushmores nipped the Bismarck Battleships, 3-2, at Battleships Ballpark. Rapid City pitcher Jesús Bruno, in particular, starred. Walter Taylor got credit for the save for Rapid City. It was his 22nd of the year.

Rapid City used a clutch hit from Sawao Yamasaki to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rushmores ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"Tough loss," said Bismarck manager Tony Thompson. "But we'll learn from it."

Rapid City now sits at 62-54, while Bismarck falls to 75-41.
