Vintners Take Down Tornadoes, 8-0
|
Middle Bass pitcher Tae-shik Cho had a large part in his team subduing the Drumright Tornadoes, 8-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Cho, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The Vintners are now 60-52, while the Tornadoes fall to 64-48.
The Vintners got a big hit from third baseman Norberto Ortíz. Facing Drumright pitcher Evan Gould in the bottom of the sixth, Ortíz pounded a 2-run home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season put the Vintners ahead, 2-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Drumright manager Niccolo Arcimboldo.
