Moccasins Upend Shipbuilders, 2-0
|
The Nampa Moccasins welcomed the Govan Shipbuilders to an afternoon game at Riverside Park.
In a low-scoring game between the Nampa Moccasins and the Govan Shipbuilders, pitcher Kieron Corfield was the difference-maker. The Nampa right-hander was tough as nails in the 2-0 Moccasins win. Corfield, now 4-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Earning his 4th save for Nampa was Okura Kawai.
Nampa took a 2-0 lead on Norinaga Adachi's 11th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Adachi hit in the top of the eighth, left Govan pitcher David Ruíz shaking his head.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Adachi told the Nampa Citizen.
The Moccasins, at 64-48, sit in 4th place in the Amber Waves League Big Sky.
