Vintners Lose Versus Kingston, 8-3
|
Wet weather did not postpone the Kingston-Middle Bass ballgame.
Pedro Martínez had a strong outing for the Kingston Suns against the Middle Bass Vintners at Jamaica National Baseball Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 8-3 win. The winning pitcher was Martínez, now 6-12. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 6.
In the bottom of the third, Kingston designated hitter Pat Fountain had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Fountain stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 3-0, Kingston. For the game, he was 1-3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Martínez.
The Suns now own a record of 36-70.
