The Rapid City Rushmores could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Ching Yei into a win. Instead, the Kingston Suns prevailed, 6-5. Yei threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. Lucca Rinuccini claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-3. Martin Vinter earned the save, his 10th.

Joseph Cooper came through with a big-time hit for Kingston. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Rapid City manager Gregory Arnold. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."

The last-place Suns go to 35-69.
