Vulcans Pick Up 6-0 Win Against Alexandria
|
Alexandria had no answer for Nassau Vulcans starter Luis Ocasio, who flummoxed Macedonians hitters as the Vulcans cruised to victory, 6-0. Ocasio, now 9-6, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing no runs. The Vulcans raised their record to 61-43.
Nassau used a well-timed hit by Yataro Otsuka to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Vulcans ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
"Nothing fazes Luis," said Nassau manager Bennett Dean.
