The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

Nassau designated hitter Michael Hayes was a significant contributor in his team's 12-5 triumph over the Birmingham Bears. He went 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Vulcans. Nassau is first in the Amber Waves League Intercontinental with a record of 49-35.

The Vulcans got a big hit from shortstop Noritada Tanaka. Facing Birmingham pitcher Clyde Borden in the bottom of the eighth, Tanaka pounded a bases-clearing triple to right. His 3rd triple of the season put the Vulcans ahead, 11-3.
