Suns in Free Fall, Lose 12th Straight
|
The Bismarck Battleships locked up a win at Jamaica National Baseball Park, knocking off the Kingston Suns, 3-2. On the mound for Bismarck was right-hander Iwan Floor. He played a major role in the triumph. Floor yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 11-1. The Suns, now 27-55, have lost 12 in a row.
Bismarck used a timely hit from George Isted to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Battleships ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We busted our tails," said Kingston manager Edward Cooley. "But we came up short."
