Nassau Sent Home with 2-0 Loss
|
Vulcan Field hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
In a well-pitched game between the Govan Shipbuilders and the Nassau Vulcans, pitcher Bob Browning was fantastic. The Govan left-hander helped his team secure the win, 2-0. Govan raised its record to 36-33 with the win.
Govan won the game in part because of Bob Mooney. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Shipbuilders ahead, 2-0. For the game, Mooney had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Browning.
