José Franco led the charge as the Rapid City Rushmores defeated the Bismarck Battleships, 5-3, in 10 innings at Ballpark of Rapid City. Franco went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Pancho Ordóñez snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-3 on the season. Eddy Young suffered the loss. With this game in the books, Rapid City is 42-28, Bismarck 47-23.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Franco hit a changeup from Eddy Young for a 2-run home run. The Rushmores, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Our guys refused to lose," said Franco.
