Drumright Scrapes Out 3-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Drumright Tornadoes and the Alexandria Macedonians, pitcher Kichibei Baba was the difference between victory and defeat. The Drumright right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Tornadoes win. Thiongo Koriche earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. Ming-feng Tsang closed it out for Drumright, earning his 12th save.
Drumright needed the clutch hitting of Claudio Tobías to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tornadoes on top, 2-1. For the game, Tobías had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's a mindset," said Baba. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
The setback makes Alexandria 14-55.
