The Birmingham Bears knocked off the Rapid City Rushmores, 6-3, in Amber Waves League action at Ballpark of Birmingham. Birmingham pitcher and Batemans Bay, Australia, native Wendell Haggers had an outstanding performance. Haggers got the win, improving to 7-5. He gave up 4 hits and walked 3 over 8.2 innings. He allowed 3 runs. The Bears, now 35-31, have won 6 in a row.

Birmingham took a 5-3 lead on Brian Cole's 6th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Cole hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Rapid City pitcher Pancho Ordóñez visibly frustrated.

Haggers described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
