The umbrellas came out during the Utrecht-Nassau contest at Vulcan Field.

The Nassau Vulcans could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Yataro Kamuta into a win. Instead, the Utrecht Scholars prevailed, 5-4. Kamuta threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Norm Hamilton snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 1 hit over 1.1 innings. He's now 4-2 on the season. Antonio Gonçalves, credited with the save, is now 3 for 5 in save opportunities.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Howard Clark? The 22-year old second baseman Clark stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Utrecht up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Utrecht manager Lou Cunningham.

The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Scholars.
