Dockhands Lose By a Run at Govan

The skies opened up and the rain fell at Riverside Park.
Govan right-hander Glenn Cimentiere helped his team edge Portsmouth by the score of 3-2. Cimentiere kept the opposing lineup in check. Govan is second in the Amber Waves League Intercontinental with a record of 31-28.
Govan right fielder Jorge Martínez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 52nd hit of the season and put the Shipbuilders ahead, 2-1.
"Both teams played hard," said Govan manager Chris Long.
