Claymores Fall, 5-0, to New Orleans
|
The New Orleans Trendsetters topped the Scottish Claymores, 5-0, in Imperial League action at New Frontier Park. The standout performance belonged to New Orleans pitcher and Taegu, South Korea, native Hyung-on Che. Che, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. The Trendsetters sit in last place in the Imperial League Dixie with a record of 15-21.
New Orleans took a 2-0 lead on Cipriano Rodríguez's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Rodríguez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Scottish pitcher Naoaki Morita visibly frustrated.
Said losing manager Germán Hernández: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
