The rain did not keep Rapid City and Govan from finishing their game.
Rapid City pitcher Ching Yei did his part in helping his team defeat the Govan Shipbuilders, 4-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Yei, now 4-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Walter Taylor locked down his 9th save.
Mark Jones had a direct impact on the outcome. Jones contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Rapid City up, 3-2.
"I didn't leave too many pitches out over the plate," said Yei.
