Vintners Beat Battleships, 8-2
|
The Middle Bass Vintners racked up a win at Vintners Stadium, bumping off the Bismarck Battleships, 8-2. Douggie Tunstall, who started for Middle Bass, pitched effectively for his team. Tunstall picked up the win for Middle Bass, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-4. Middle Bass is now 27-23, Bismarck 33-17.
Jing-shuan Yang had a big 2-run home run for the Vintners in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Middle Bass leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a splitter from Jim Herring and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Vintners ahead, 4-1.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Yang after the game.
