Bears Beat Suns, 4-1
|
Birmingham Bears pitcher Enrique Ayala was in top form, leading his team past the Kingston Suns, 4-1. Manuel Copodo, now 3-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. With the win, Birmingham raised its record to 17-13.
Birmingham went in front, 4-1, on Gustavo Morales's 8th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Morales hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kingston pitcher Paul O'Brien visibly perturbed.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Morales said.
