Battleships Use Late Surge to Win
Bismarck Battleships starter Adrián Vásquez pitched a strong game against the Rapid City Rushmores at Battleships Ballpark, leading the Battleships to victory, 3-2. Bismarck reliever José Márquez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Lawrence Madison took the loss. The Battleships, at 17-7, have a record worth flaunting.

Roger Darrah was 1-3 with a walk for Bismarck. The 22-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Lawrence Madison. It was his 5th RBI of the season.

"It's Baseball 101," said Bismarck manager Tony Thompson. "Fundamentals."
