Jesús Bruno pitched a gem to lead Rapid City to victory over the Birmingham Bears, 3-1. The save went to Lawrence Madison, number 2 for him. The win gives Rapid City a record of 14-8.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Rushmores had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when left fielder Kevin Pearson hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Wendell Haggers and made the score 3-1, Rushmores. Pearson was 1-4.

"My gosh almighty, Jesús was tremendous," said Rapid City manager Gregory Arnold.
