Ching Yei had a strong outing for the Rapid City Rushmores against the Birmingham Bears at Ballpark of Rapid City. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. The win moves Rapid City to a record of 13-8.
The Rushmores got a big at-bat from right fielder Sawao Yamasaki. For the game, Yamasaki was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Rapid City a 3-1 lead.
"I had a good game plan," said Yei. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Gregory Arnold said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
