Tornadoes Rally For Late Win Over Vulcans
|
The Drumright Tornadoes faced a tough opponent in Nassau pitcher Robert MacDonell, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Vulcan Field by a final score of 5-2. MacDonell went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Drumright reliever Ramón López picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Frank Sparks absorbed the loss. The loss drops Nassau to 10-5.
Hisamitsu Yoshida hit a run-scoring triple off Brad Dickson in the top of the ninth, which put the Tornadoes in front, 3-2. Yoshida had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
In comments to the Drumright Herald, Yoshida admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
