The Rapid City Rushmores got a marvelous performance from pitcher Connor Sonnborn. The right-hander kept the Kingston offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 2-0 Rapid City victory at Ballpark of Rapid City. The win puts Rapid City at 8-6.

The Suns had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rushmores going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old catcher Ian Capeci came to the plate. Capeci hit a 2-run home run on a 1-0 slider from Kingston hurler Wes Lee. It was Capeci's 2nd home run of the year.

"The old adage is true," said Sonnborn. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
