The Sioux Falls Lakota rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher Masujiro Ohayashi to a win, beating the Thornton Sun Dogs, 4-2, at Sun Dog Field. Arthur Cogan picked up his 9th save of the season. The 4th-place Lakota bumped their record to 21-27.

Sioux Falls used a clutch at-bat from Rowan Guao to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Lakota ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Thornton manager Mark Richardson said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
