The Shizuoka Anguirus took António Sandoval's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Ballpark of Shizuoka. The final score had Shizuoka getting past the Skyelanders, 3-2, in 14 innings. Sandoval over 9 innings allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 10. The win belonged to Mal Schmidt in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Joe Hollins took the loss for Glendale. The 4th-place Anguirus lifted their record to 18-28.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 14th, 23-year old right fielder Francisco Rivera had a chance to be the hero. Glendale pitcher Joe Hollins wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Rivera hit a sacrifice fly. The Anguirus had themselves a thrilling win.

"This win should put a little bounce in our step," said Rivera.
