The Glendale Skyelanders pinned a convincing loss on the Shizuoka Anguirus, 9-3, at Ballpark of Shizuoka. Phil Daniel was a main factor in the win. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk for Glendale. The winning pitcher was Jimmy Horne. He's now 2-4. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits for the Skyelanders. The Skyelanders, at 22-23, sit in 5th place in the Rocky Mountain League West.

Glendale used a clutch at-bat from John Myers to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Skyelanders ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Daniel told the Glendale Chronicle.
