Lakota Pick Up 6-1 Win
|
Sioux Falls picked up a win at Gigans Ballpark, bumping off the Niigata Gigans, 6-1. Pitcher Masujiro Ohayashi was a major reason the Lakota emerged victorious. Ohayashi yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-1. Jesús Luna was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
Sioux Falls went in front, 6-0, on Kazu Morimoto's 6th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Morimoto hit in the top of the ninth, left Niigata pitcher Shawn Mosley visibly perturbed.
"This game will humble you real quick," said Niigata manager Bill Holt.
Sioux Falls is now 19-23.
