Kyoto Rodan starter Naozane Sakai turned in a top-notch performance against the Sioux Falls Lakota at Lakota Ballpark. The result was a win for the Rodan, 6-2. Sakai got the win, improving to 4-2. He gave up 2 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run.

Kyoto won the game in part because of Ray O'Neal. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Rodan ahead, 2-0. For the game, O'Neal had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
