Lincoln and Sioux Falls took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

The Lincoln Emancipation faced a tough opponent in Sioux Falls pitcher Carlos González, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Emancipation Stadium by a final score of 8-2. González went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Reliever David Guzmán picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Ian Benstead took the loss.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Germão Ermito came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Sioux Falls pitcher Ian Benstead, he hit a 0-1 cutter for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Lincoln on top, 4-2.

"We took it on the chin tonight," said losing manager Jorge Garza.

The 4th-place Lakota now sit at 15-18.
