Glendale first baseman Sadakuno Arai had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Arai went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, even as Niigata beat the Skyelanders, 8-7. With the win, the Gigans improved to 22-13.

Yong-u Ton, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2038 draft, came through for Niigata with a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth. The first baseman went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 RBI.

Ton called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
