The Glendale Skyelanders spoiled a good performance by Niigata designated hitter Abel Randall, bumping off Niigata, 8-6, at Skyelanders Ballpark. Randall was 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The third-place Skyelanders now have a win-loss record of 16-18.

Kun Paek hit a run-scoring triple off Mike Spencer in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Skyelanders in front, 7-6. Paek had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.

Skyelanders manager Michael Johnson wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
