Kingpins Handed 3-1 Loss by Chandler
|
The Chandler Waxers took on the Iowa City Kingpins at 7-10 Park.
Chandler Waxers starter Kunisada Yasuda turned in an exceptional performance against the Iowa City Kingpins at 7-10 Park, resulting in a Chandler win, 3-1. Yasuda yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 4-0. Jorge Gallegos earned the save for Chandler, his 8th of the year.
Chandler used a well-timed hit by Brian Davis to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Waxers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Davis, cracking a smile.
The loss drops Iowa City to 7-19.
