Romero reaches base 3 times, Ignites Shizuoka Offense
The Shizuoka Anguirus topped the Namuko Puckmen, 8-3, in Rocky Mountain League action at Ballpark of Shizuoka. The game was highlighted by the performance of Shizuoka designated hitter José Romero. Seung-hyeon Han was the winner. He's now 1-2. The loser was 24-year old left-handed pitcher Rubén López. "Lousy" describes the Namuko performance in the early going.

Tied up with the Puckmen in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Anguirus got a boost from shortstop Myung-bak Chup. With the bases loaded, Chup saw a first pitch fastball from Rubén López and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Shizuoka on top, 4-3.

Romero told a Shizuoka Chronicle reporter that the win made him feel "upbeat about our team."
