The Kyoto Rodan downed the Iowa City Kingpins, 3-1, at 7-10 Park. Stellar pitching by Jong-hoo Im had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. The loss makes Iowa City 5-11.

Kyoto used the bat of John Newsome to get the win. The right fielder spanked a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Rodan ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it altered the outcome.

"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Im.
