Waxers Lose as Grizzlies Stage Late Rally
The West Valley City Grizzlies had to overcome a fine effort from Chandler pitcher Kunisada Yasuda to win, 4-2, at Ballpark of Chandler. Yasuda went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Daniel Hernández, the winning pitcher, is now 1-2. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 2. The Waxers drop to 6-10.

West Valley City used the timely hitting of Ernesto Machado to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Grizzlies on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

West Valley City manager Carlos Aquino was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
