The Lincoln Emancipation finished off the West Valley City Grizzlies, 7-2. Much of the credit belonged to designated hitter Stu Dillard. Dillard went 3-4 with 3 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 times for the Emancipation. The win leaves Lincoln with a record of 1-1.

Shinichi Kouda was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk for Lincoln. The 26-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Jorge Cantú. It was his 2nd hit of the season.
