Fighting Scotts Take Down Skyelanders, 3-2, in 10
|
The Henderson Fighting Scotts got a stellar effort from pitcher Roberto Hernández, helping Henderson score a win over the visiting Glendale Skyelanders, 3-2, in 10 innings. Henderson reliever Cameron Gow picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jimmy Horne absorbed the loss. The loss puts Glendale at 1-1.
The decisive blow was delivered by Eugene Hamilton in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off fireballing right-hander Jimmy Horne to win the game for Henderson. The home crowd went nuts.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Hernández told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
